Fine Art Local, a dynamic new gallery and online platform, will celebrate its grand opening on February 28th with an exciting reception and exhibition in downtown Wilmington’s ArtWorks building. From 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., artists will mingle with guests, followed by the monthly Fourth Friday gallery walk from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Whether you're a seasoned collector or a first-time buyer, attendees will enjoy wine, snacks, music, and the opportunity to view stunning original artwork while meeting the talented artists behind the pieces.

Leping Beck, the founder of Fine Art Local, has a deep, personal connection to the art world—thanks to her husband, award-winning oil painter Dan Beck. Known for his striking impressionistic style, Dan’s work has earned nationwide acclaim, including a recent second-place win in Bold Brush’s monthly competition. Through their shared life, Leping has gained an intimate understanding of the transformative power of art. As an art lover herself, she cherishes the beauty of living with original pieces. Yet, she recognizes the barriers that prevent others from experiencing the same joy. Many find the idea of owning original art intimidating—whether it's the feeling of being out of place in a gallery, the daunting price tags, or the uncertainty of how a piece might fit into their home. Leping's mission with Fine Art Local is to break down these walls and make art accessible to all.
Fine Art Local’s mission is to redefine how art is bought and appreciated, making original artwork more accessible, approachable, and affordable. The gallery, which is open to the public every Wednesday through Sunday, serves as a showroom that anyone can walk into to see what’s on display. A variety of subjects, mediums, and artists are showcased here, ensuring everyone sees something that fits their personal taste. From modern and abstract to classic and traditional, the gallery’s collection caters to diverse preferences, helping everyone connect with the art.
