Cathy Poulos's Biography
Cathy Poulos Art - “Painting Life’s Little Moments”
Wilmington artist, Cathy McDowell Poulos has drawn and painted all of her life, pursuing formal art classes through the university level, then continuing her artistic growth through workshops with local, state and international artists and by studying on her own. Her award-winning work is regularly juried into local and state art shows, and she participates in several annual plein air painting events. Some highlights of her career include being the featured artist for the 60 th Annual North Carolina Azalea Festival in 2007. She is a member of the Wilmington Art Association, Oil Painters of America, National Watercolor Society, American Impressionism Society, and the National Oil & Acrylics Association. Cathy has gallery work available at the Dan Beck Fine Art Gallery and is also an affiliated artist with The Artworks of Wilmington. Cathy accepts commissions for her artwork, including house and pet portraits, wedding programs and invitations, and paintings of local activities and events. She frequently uses her artistic gift to benefit charitable and non-profit causes. Watercolors, acrylics and oils are her preferred art mediums and she enjoys painting people, nature and landscapes from our coastal area or from areas to which she has traveled. She uses a colorful palette in a naturalistic style to capture life around her or special moments for others.

Artist Statement
Art has always been a part of who I am and a means of expressing my appreciation of the world around me. My choice of subjects is usually generated by my own passions in life including spending time on the water, gardening, people and nature. Thank you for your interest in my art.
