Ann Kroll Hair's Biography

Ann Hair is an award winning artist who draws her inspiration and palette from nature but enjoys tweaking the colors a bit and turning them up a notch. "I particularly enjoy capturing the play of light and shadows cast by brilliant early morning or late afternoon light." She loves working en plein aire and from life.

Currently living on the coast of North Carolina, she finds inspiration everywhere. Oceans, rivers, marshes are favorite subjects as well as people enjoying themselves on area beaches. These works can be found in New Work or Coastal Work. People and Places usually are paintings from travels and Still lifes are generally done in the studio when the weather is too hot or cold.

A graduate of Daemen College's fine arts program in Buffalo, NY, Ms. Hair has continued her studies with nationally known artists. Her work has won awards in national and local juried shows and is in collections worldwide.  Currently, she is represented by  City Art Gallery, Greenville, NC, All About Art, Bald Head Island, NC, Gallery Verrazzano @ the ArtWorks, Wilmington, NC, Big Sky Shop+Studio, Wilmington, NC, Spruced, Wilmington, NC and Lantana's, Southport, NC.
